We're in Greece after a whirlwind dance with the Mr. William Shakespeare in London and Stratford.
We will post some more detailed posts tomorrow (David on optimism and history, Willa Marie on traveling with your period, and a guest post from Joan Afton!!).
But first, here's an update on what we're gettin' up to:
We flew from London to Athens and met the ever charming Joan Afton at the airport - so nice to have a traveling companion. On our first day we took a 'mythology tour' of the city and visited the Acropolis and other sites. Lovely. We found Athens to be charming in its chaotic mix of cafes and bars, take-us-or-leave-us Greeks, and its ubiquitous graffiti reminiscent of NY in the 80s.
We rented a car and drove to Delphi - the former center of the
political and spiritual Hellenic world. It was stunning. It's amphitheater, and temple of Apollo and long linear stadium - rang us like a bell. The museum was suuuuper well curated and it had the freakin' Sphinx.
Now we are on the Peleponisian coast in a coastal town called Napflio chilling with Joan and planning to tour Mycene and Epidurous. WM and I swam in the Agean this evening. So so nice.
Love you all.
