Livada Beach
Climbing the wind sculpted rocks and swimming in the bluest of blue waters at Levada beach, a UNESCO site. ’Natural heritage for reals yo!’.

Cameron came to visit!
Our second honorary Jubilee member. She was christened ‘Sea Otter Jones’.

Truly Local Architecture
Shelters for goats and goatherds which, along with the ubiquitous stone fences, seemed to grow right out of the ground and continually inspired me to think of a more grounded, humble, place based architecture of the future which is in dialogue and synch with it’s place in the world.
Thallasaki - best restaurant on the island (in Greece?)
Taking cousin Cameron to our favorite restaurant in the village of Isternia. A restaurant at which apparently the rich and famous are sometimes sighted. They sail to it from Mykonos to sample the creative riffs on traditional Greek foods.
Some of our favorite dishes:
Cucumber and watermelon salad garnished with hazelnuts and bee-pollen and housemade sour cherry and plum sodas.

Fava beans with grilled fruit:

An incredible turine of eggplant, zucchini and sun-dried tomatoes:

Shrimp with taramasalata and pickled local items:

Local cheese grilled with local fruits prepared the way the chef’s “mama used to do it.”

Notchweed (a local green) with a warm, delicate, incredible feta:

Joseph the Witch
Herb and medicinal vendor in Valakos the town surrounded by the mystical rock landscape. (featured in Cameron's post as well).
He claims to have been to the underworld, met Hades and lived to tell the tale. He believes (strongly) tea should be boiled at no more than 60degrees, capers can cure everything that ails you, and that everything is getting better - ‘Gradually. Very gradually.’

My Morning Hike
Marble Lintels - above doorways
Dovecotes - a unique architecture
